KAIROS selected for the Artefact AI Film Festival 2026

Our animated short KAIROS has been selected for the third edition of the Artefact AI Film Festival, organised by Artefact together with mk2. This year’s theme is (Dis)Connection: the links between cinema, AI and contemporary creation. That fits a film about a connection that survives 343 years.
KAIROS is a three-minute animated short about one soul across two lifetimes. In 1677 a man watches the woman he loves burn and does nothing. In 2020 his soul, in a new body and with no memory of any of it, faces the same moment again. The title is the ancient Greek word for the right moment, the one that matters.
The film has already found its audience this autumn. It’s featured in the Spotlight on Escape, it received an honorable mention at Warsaw Glitch, and it’s an Official Selection at the James Drake Media x AI Movie Awards in London. Now it’s heading to Paris.
Vote for KAIROS. The film is now on the festival’s website, and public voting runs from 9 December 2026 to 13 January 2027. The film with the most votes takes the Audience Award, and the awards ceremony is at MK2 Bibliothèque in Paris in February 2027. If KAIROS moved you, a vote means a lot to a small studio in Stockholm.
As co-founder François Brogi puts it, Artefact is “above all, a film festival”, a place where emotion and storytelling matter most. That’s exactly what we try to make.
Thank you to the Artefact team for having us.
